The small habits that quietly transform skin.
Skincare is mostly behaviour. These are the small things — order, timing, touch — that make even a modest routine do more.
- 01
Layer thin to thick.
Apply products in order of viscosity — water, essence, serum, cream, oil. Heavier textures will pass through lighter ones, never the other way.
- 02
Damp skin drinks more.
Apply hydrating serums to slightly damp skin. Humectants like hyaluronic acid need water on the surface to pull moisture in, not out.
- 03
Wait, but not too long.
Sixty seconds between steps is usually enough. Long waits between layers don't help absorption — they just dehydrate the surface.
- 04
Sleep is a skincare step.
Most repair happens between 11pm and 3am. A regular bedtime outperforms most night serums for visible skin quality.
- 05
Reapply SPF like lipstick.
Sunscreen wears off. A stick or compact SPF over makeup, every two hours outdoors, will out-perform any anti-ageing serum.
- 06
Touch less than you think.
Hands carry oil and friction. Press products in with the back of clean fingers and let the skin be still between steps.
